SCHOOL UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 6TH THROUGH 8TH
Dear Parents or Guardians of students in Grades 6-8,
As the 2023-2024 school year enters Spring, it is important that we continue to be proactive in encouraging all of our students to maintain a growth mindset, keep working towards their personal goals and end the school year on a strong, positive note. At PS232, we have high expectations and there are some crucial components of the school community that we would like your support with for the duration of the school year and beyond.
ATTENDANCE/LATENESS: Attendance is a vital part of education. Students who arrive after 8: l 5AM are considered late. Lateness is a factor that prevents your child from gaining the benefits of a full instructional day. Effective, May I st, if your child arrives after 8:30AM without a parent note or explanation (ex. A doctor's appointment) they will be held for reflection that afternoon. Reflection will take place from 2:25pm until 3:25pm. During this time, they will work on the content missed and/or a literacy based activity.
UNIFORM: Students are expected to wear their uniform on a daily basis. The appropriate daily uniform is a light blue or navy blue polo shirt or any shirt that has the PS232 logo. This shirt is to be worn with khaki/beige OR navy blue bottoms such as pants, skirts, shorts, leggings or joggers. Students are also expected to wear appropriate footwear especially sneakers on days that they have Physical Education. Flip flops, crocs or slides are NOT acceptable. Students may wear any PS232 hoodie in addition to the regular uniform. Effective May I, if your child is not wearing the daily uniform, they will be held for reflection on that same day. Reflection will take place from 2:25pm until 3:25pm.
